Our Story
DU Alums Mike Schettler (1983) and Ton Phairatphiboon (2001) merged
Star Market and Stick-e-Rice (two DU area favorites)
to create STICK-E-STAR!
Star Market
has been a favorite stopping place since 1972 originally owned by
the Zieglers. Star Market and Catering was born 1988, when
Michael Schettler bought Star Market from hi in-laws and expanded
the catering. Ton Phairatphiboon got his culinary arts experience
from the World Famous Dusit Thani Hotel.
We give our customer Thai and American Fusion cooking with that
Home-style flare we all know and love. Our Carrot Cake is world
famous among DU alumni and our Stick-e-Rice is matched by none other
in the city as we are the only restaurant to still make it fresh
daily.
Our goal is to provide you with not just a healthy meal, but on
that is perfectly balanced and one that stimulates all your senses.
We cook everything from scratch with no MSG. We use only Soybean
Oil. We use only high quality ingredients, our steaks are lean and
trimmed Certified Angus Beef. All of our other meats are all
natural and we cook to order. Welcome to the new era in dingin out
where we can choose to have a much fuller, healthier and happier
life.
